Find the next design task

Reading the current project without changing it.

Full Designer is active. All six stages and Layers remain available; choose Guided whenever you want the next applicable task.

2Site evidenceParcel, field observations and mapped constraints

Establish the working parcel, then collect sourced screening and field evidence.

Proposal risk — soils & water table

Sandy ground vs high seasonal water table / silts is a large design-fee and system-type difference. Use SSURGO for screening; SHWT and perc remain professional/field determinations.

Look up a parcel, then fetch soil and set SHWT/design perc for pricing risk.
Parcel & boundary
Survey / georeferenced parcel exchange
Preview a WGS84 GeoJSON, KML, or KMZ boundary against the tax-parcel reference. A Boundary survey must be KMZ; after adoption its exact ring is the controlling parcel and is locked against ordinary edits. Surveyor and license fields are claimed provenance only — this platform does not verify licensure or legal survey authority.
No site-geometry file previewed.
ROW offset (ft)

Selected parcelNot selected
Principal buildingNot drawn
Driveway / appurtenancesNone recorded
These shortcuts activate and unlock the same Building 1 and Parcel Amenities controls in Layers. They do not create separate or inferred geometry.
3Design basisFlow, system type and professional determinations
Project basis
Bedrooms Design flow (gpd) Design perc (min/in)
Trench/bed + a perc rate adds the sized plan + section (D-1/D-2) to the package.
Regulatory scope
Direct-flow regulatory scope (required when design flow overrides bedrooms)
Nonresidential scope clears only with an AHJ determination naming the other governing standard.
Soil, limiting layer & hydraulics
SHWT (ft below grade)
4Layout & hydraulicsPlace, connect, optimize and profile the system

Use the map and Layers workspace for geometry; these tools assist the active layout.

Layout readiness
Point of connectionMissing
Septic tankMissing
D-boxMissing
Absorption fieldMissing
Distribution pipingMissing
Core layout geometry has not been placed. This is workflow status, not a compliance verdict.
Placement & optimization
House sewer ends pin to the POC + tank inlet. Activate + unlock Septic Tank Inlet Pipe to drag bends. A 90° hand bend flags non-standard (RCNYS P3005.2).
Uses the current basis to draft the field, tank, and D-box. Layout readiness still names POC, distribution, evidence, and verification work that remains.
Try: optimize / clean train / square sewer. Always shows a review; PE confirms before changes apply.
Building drain datum
Sets the building-drain (POC) invert vs grade — e.g. slab 6″ up, POC 18″ down ⇒ drain 12″ below grade.
Products, field package & profile
Longitudinal section: the objects cut open at their inverts — tank, pump chamber, D-box, mound.
5VerifyResolve engineering checks and review findings
Engineering review
Self-assessment against the design rules (your edits apply).

Place the conveyance (POC / tank / D-box / bed), then run the QA checks.

Package assembly

Complete project information and assemble the package. Every current work product remains available from Downloads in the header.

Look up or click a parcel, pull the layers, then assemble the package.

Boundary Turn ON to drag the parcel to its surveyed spot. Otherwise the mouse pans & draws.

Resolve engineering issue

    Soil workspace

Review mapped SSURGO screening and manage the official Web Soil Survey work product.

    Mapped soil screening

SSURGO helps screen the parcel. Field deep-hole and perc evidence still govern the design.

    Open Web Soil Survey ↗
    No mapped soil survey loaded.

    Official soil report

Attach the USDA-NRCS Web Soil Survey PDF created from this parcel AOI. It remains sourced screening evidence; field deep-hole and perc data still govern the design.

    No official soil report attached.

    Ten-year flood determination

Record the controlling site and ten-year flood elevations with attributed professional, agency, or AHJ evidence.

FEMA mapped screening is separate. This determination records the evidence used for the §75-A.4(a) comparison.

    Well determinations

Resolve mapped candidates and record the controlling Table 2 footnote evidence for each located well. Screening never clears itself.

    Mapped candidate disposition

Use attributed professional, agency, or AHJ evidence to resolve screening candidates.

    Per-well Table 2 footnotes (a) and (g)

Select a located well, then record its drainage-path and water-entry-depth evidence.

    Reserve-area determination

Compliant reserve geometry clears automatically. Record an attributed explanation only when the additional 50% usable area is not possible.

    Public-sewer servicing determination

Use this only when assessor screening reports public sewer. Screening itself is not a prohibition or an authorization.
